Choose the seat model for editors this month.

1) Benefits

Descript becomes our shared media hub for audio and video editing.

  • • Central shared workspace with version control like Google Docs.
  • • Collaborate without sending large media files.
  • • Accurate multi-speaker transcription.
  • • Overdub fixes misspoken words and audio artifacts quickly.
  • • Edit video by editing the transcript; audio/video stay in sync.

2) Descript Account Sharing

Descript allows credential sharing among employees/contractors for work purposes.

Tradeoffs of one shared login

  • • No audit trail of who made changes
  • • Potential conflicts if multiple people edit simultaneously
  • • Shared media minutes deplete faster
  • • Weaker security

Decision goal

Find the simplest model that keeps collaboration clean and accountable.

Recommendation: 1 Editor seat per person for core editors. If budget is tight, start with one shared Editor seat and expand later.

3) Upgrading the Account

We are on the free plan and need to upgrade to the Creator plan.
